Manifesto:

 - The Utopian ideas of today are the realities of tomorrow -

Introduction Note: In this section you will find a first draft of our Manifesto. These articles have been edited in order to set the ground for our future Constitution.

A Beautiful Planet’s ongoing mission is to give each individual the motivation, information and means to make our planet the place it should be for all: A Beautiful Planet.

a) To offer anyone with a connection to the Internet free access to the highest degree of culture, information and education.

b) To provide sustainable funding to aid, development, conservation, community, cultural and research projects around the globe.

c) To create a collaborative network that empowers any individual to take part in the act of "making our planet a better place".

a) Non profit: 100% of all profits generated by A Beautiful Planet’s trading subsidiaries/initiatives (such as AbP Live) must be used to advance our cause and in no way to profit, other than by a justifiable and reasonable salary, its managers and employees.

b) Non national: Despite being based and registered in London (UK) – A Beautiful Planet rejects any belonging to a specific culture, area or nation.

c) Non political: A Beautiful Planet is an organisation of ideas designed to benefit all levels of global society – and must therefore never take part in partisan politics.

d) Non religious / Non atheist: A Beautiful Planet respects and encourages the right of belief of each individual - yet as a neutral organisation it rejects any form of affiliation with a set religious, sectarian or atheist belief system.

A Beautiful Planet and all its initiatives are to be officially declared: “Property of Humanity at the Service of Humanity” (PHSH)

The object of this extraordinary status will be to ensure that our action is never compromised by the personal aspirations and ideas of a single individual or a specific group (including its founders and future management)

This status will be backed by a universal Constitution that will be determined and elected by A Beautiful Planet’s global Community (in good time)

All employees of A Beautiful Planet and its related initiatives will have to pledge to serve this Constitution.

All rights, patents and other legal forms of protection and ownership are/will be registered to A Beautiful Planet as an organisation / not to an individual (May it be under Copyright, Open Source or Creative Commons licensing, etc).

 a) “Do not condemn - propose!”

A Beautiful Planet must focus on building a better future rather than condemning the issues of the present and past. For each “issue” we must try and provide an informed and constructive set of solutions.

b) “Think and speak with plurality in mind”

A Beautiful Planet does not consider “modern societies” to be anymore effective than so-called “primitive societies” when it comes to guarantying the physical and emotional wellbeing of its populations. Our rhetorical and editorial line must try and be as impartial and universal as possible – Un-loyal Reason and Facts must be our guide.

d) “Act global – think local”

Although A Beautiful Planet’s action will be global, each of our initiatives must be developed with a clear focus on local aspirations and realities.

“What is important to people in Buenos Aires does not necessarily appeal to people in Damascus”.

Despite using a central online system, we must always strive to make A Beautiful Planet’s action as localised and contextual as possible.

Although some of our products will be designed to generate money for charitable, environmental and cultural projects, the privacy, security and “browsing comfort” of our users must always come first!

a) For any individual:

To reinforce the idea of universal ownership, each aspect of A Beautiful Planet must be open to collaboration. This will include both online and offline activities such as AbP Live and our various charitable, environmental and cultural projects.

b) For groups and organisations:

There are tens of thousands of wonderful initiatives and organisations operating around the globe. A Beautiful Planet must always seek to join forces with them and support their action when possible.

All of A Beautiful Planet’s activities must be made transparent to its community. This includes: new policies, income and spending, and future plans (unless jugged strategically unreasonable by the management of the concerned entity).

In addition we will develop a direct democracy system that offers our community members the opportunity to approve, comment, propose or disagree on any aspect of our policy and development strategy.
